Chemical Injection Package Skid Design Services | KHAAS
KHAAS Design & Engineering provides chemical injection package skid engineering support for EPC contractors, package manufacturers and fabrication teams worldwide. Based in Chennai, India, we deliver structural and mechanical design, piping coordination, skid analysis and fabrication documentation tailored to the agreed project scope.
Our approach brings equipment layouts, piping interfaces, structural supports, lifting arrangements and installation requirements into one coordinated engineering package.
What Is a Chemical Injection Package Skid?
A chemical injection package is a modular assembly that meters a controlled quantity of chemical into a process. Depending on the application, it may include storage or day tanks, metering pumps, piping or tubing, valves, instruments and controls mounted on a common steel frame.
The required flow, discharge pressure, chemical properties and operating conditions guide the configuration. Duty and standby arrangements, storage capacity and monitoring requirements are defined by the approved process design and project specifications.
Our Engineering Scope
Structural Skid Design and Analysis
Base frame arrangement, member sizing and equipment support design.
Assessment of empty, operating, test and maintenance conditions, as applicable.
Lifting and road or sea transportation assessments for specified handling conditions.
Wind, seismic, vibration and other project-specific assessments where required.
Connection, base plate, anchor bolt, lifting lug and pad eye design within the agreed scope.
Mechanical and Piping Coordination
Equipment and tank support coordination using approved vendor data.
Piping or tubing layout and support arrangement development.
Pipe stress analysis and equipment interface load checks where required.
Tank or vessel engineering where included in the contract.
3D coordination models, general arrangement drawings and fabrication details.
Process sizing, chemical selection, pump selection, electrical design and control-system responsibilities are defined at the start of the project. We coordinate these interfaces with the client and relevant package vendors.
Chemical Injection Skid Design Methodology
1. Confirm the Design Basis
Review the approved P&IDs, equipment datasheets, layout, chemical service information and client specifications. Confirm the project location, applicable codes, material requirements, load cases and document formats. Record missing inputs and agree how they will be resolved.
2. Coordinate the Package Layout
Develop the arrangement around tanks, pumps and piping interfaces. Review access for operation, maintenance and equipment removal, together with the package footprint, support locations and foundation interfaces. Coordinate containment and drainage requirements with the responsible disciplines.
3. Establish Loads and Analyse the Base Frame
Develop the structural model using approved equipment weights, liquid contents, centres of gravity and support reactions. Assess the specified operating, test, lifting, transport and environmental conditions. Check strength, stability and deflection against the agreed design criteria.
4. Resolve Piping and Equipment Interfaces
Coordinate routing, support loads, thermal movements and equipment nozzle limits within scope. Where the pumping system requires a pulsation assessment, confirm responsibility and obtain the relevant vendor inputs. Feed updated loads back into the structural design.
5. Develop Connections and Handling Details
Prepare member connections, welds, bolted joints, base plates and anchors. Develop lifting details around the approved lifting arrangement and package centre of gravity. Coordinate transport restraints and temporary supports specified for shipment.
6. Check and Issue Deliverables
Cross-check calculations, models, drawings and material schedules before submission. Track client comments and fabrication queries, then issue controlled revisions. Assess changes to equipment, loading or layout for their effect on the design.
Key Design Coordination Considerations
Chemical compatibility: confirm wetted materials and seals with the client and equipment supplier using the actual chemical, concentration and temperature.
Operating envelope: coordinate dosing range, pressure and pump configuration with approved process and vendor data.
Maintenance access: allow the agreed space for pump servicing, valve operation and component removal.
Package interfaces: define battery limits, tie-in points, foundation reactions and electrical or instrumentation interfaces.
Site requirements: confirm hazardous-area, environmental and containment requirements with the responsible disciplines where applicable.
Handling: use the specified lifting configuration, shipping condition and transport constraints.
Typical Engineering Deliverables
Design basis and structural calculation reports.
Operating, lifting and transportation assessment reports.
Pipe stress reports and support load schedules.
3D models and general arrangement drawings.
Skid fabrication, connection, anchor and lifting detail drawings.

Engineering Support for Global Projects
KHAAS supports EPCs, OEMs, package suppliers and fabricators in India and international markets, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Singapore and the USA. Our Chennai-based team coordinates remotely with project teams and aligns submissions with the agreed review process.
Applicable codes and operator specifications are established for each assignment. Deliverables, responsibilities, review stages and schedules are defined in the project scope before detailed engineering begins.
